Free Vibration Analysis of Orthotropic Rectangular Plate Made of Pyroelectric Material

In this paper, the free vibration analysis of a thin orthotropic plate made of pyroelectric material has been carried out and the frequencies are calculated using the Rayleigh-Ritz method. The initial disturbance has been made by the propagation of simple harmonic waves on the surface of the plate through an arbitrary angle. For the symmetric and antisymmetric modes of plane wave propagation, the non-dimensionalized natural frequencies of the plate have been calculated for different wave numbers under different boundary conditions. The numerical work has been carried out for the pyroelectric material BaTiO3. Results are tabulated and dispersion curves are drawn.
